Matt Piper – 1:00 pm
Beats & vocals with Kong & Neptune

This tutorial will explore creative approaches to using Kong as a performance instrument and sound design tool, and will demonstrate Neptune techniques for both natural and extreme pitch correction plus techniques for creating vocal harmonies.

Kurt Kurasaki (Peff) – 2:00 pm
Sidechain Compression and Beyond

Kurt will examine the process called "Ducking", otherwise known as "sidechain compression," and will explore some creative uses of this feature in Reason.

Ted Bruner – 3:00 pm
Ted will discuss his approach to songwriting and to production of the song after it's written. Drawing from his own experiences, Ted will share what has worked for him as a writer/producer for well-known artists including how he likes to get to know the artist he's working with until the two of them find common ground on something truly intense for both of them.

Kill The Noise – 4:00 pm
DJ and producer Jake Stanczak, aka Kill the Noise, will discuss his official remix he did for Universal / Downtown records of the Kid Sister track "Right Hand Hi." Jake will demonstrate how he made some of the sounds, and how he manipulated the vocals, signal flow, etc., and show how he put the whole thing together piece by piece.

About the Presenters

Ted Bruner
Ted Bruner is a musician, songwriter, and producer originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Bruner began his professional music career when his band Colony was signed to MCA Records in 1998. In 2002, he relocated to Los Angeles and began writing and producing for Rondor Music/Universal. He left Universal in 2009 and signed with Warner Chappell. Ted has written with and/or produced songs for Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Kesha, Selena Gomez, Plain White T's, Hinder, My Darkest Days, Chad Kroeger, Ludacris, Joey Moi, Delta Goodrem, Bowling For Soup, Mitchel Musso, Jason Castro, Marie Digby, Jenna Andrews, Jessie James (singer), Lit (band), Semi Precious Weapons, Bijou Phillips, Natalie Walker, Tiffany Page, Bonnie Mckee, Traci Lords, Zac Maloy, Dash & Will, Jon Peter Lewis (American Idol), Action Design, and Building Rome among others, as well as songs in film and television.


Kill The Noise
Kill The Noise is DJ Producer Jake Stanczak. Jake got started producing music on a Boss Dr. Rhythm in the 90s and quickly realized that it probably wasn't how he was going to get the sound he was after. After his father got him a copy of Reason 1.0 in 2000, Jake's professional production took off, and he's never looked back. His latest EP is released on Slow Roast Records - a label he started with legendary DMC World Champion turntablist DJ Craze. Jake's uniquely intense take on electronic dance music has kept him rocking around the globe, from packed nightclubs to sold-out festivals like HARD, Electric Daisy Carnival and Audiotistic.


Matt Piper
Matt Piper, author of Reason 4 Ignite, is Line 6’s Propellerhead Product Specialist. Piper is an accomplished musician who makes innovative use of Propellerhead software for music production as well as for live performances with improvisational groups and DJ’s in the thriving underground electronic music scene in Los Angeles.


Kurt Kurasaki (Peff)
Kurt Kurasaki is the co-author of the Music Production with Reason and Record video series and has penned the Power Tools for Reason books. Kurt has written for Computer Music, Electronic Musician, and Keyboard magazines, and has also worked as an instructor for Berklee Music online.

As a producer and sound designer, Kurt is a contractor for Propellerhead Software and has developed tutorials on Reason and synthesizer, Combinator, and effects patches included in Reason and Record. Known as "Peff" throughout the online ReBirth and Reason communities, Kurt is one of the originators of ReBirth Mods, and maintains a website dedicated to Reason, Record and ReBirth: peff.com
